Today, the Moi team comprises developers Alex Lindroos, Hung Nguyen, Iiro Pelttari, and Mikael Gousetis, alongside designer Petri Pystynen – who work closely with Jusu.
The team has grown together with the client over the years. The first version of the Moi app was built in just three months back in 2019. Since then, the app, the project team, and Flutter itself have made significant progress.
In the early days, the team was small, and Jusu has been involved almost from the beginning. When the original team lead moved on to new challenges, Jusu had the chance to step into a bigger role.
– The idea was that I’d become the Scrum Master, so I got certified. But that’s not really what I ended up doing, Jusu laughs.
Flutter brings speed and flexibility
Moi Mobiili has been taking advantage of Flutter from the very beginning, as the technology quickly won over both the developers and the client. Today, the team develops and maintains four separate applications for Moi. Each of these apps has its own codebase, but their mobile and web versions are all built from a single Flutter codebase – efficiently and cleanly.
– Flutter has been the best choice for Moi. Being able to build apps for multiple platforms from one codebase allows us to move really fast, Jusu explains.
– And since developers love working with Flutter, it’s easier to keep the team happy, he adds.
In the early days, a lot had to be built from scratch. These days, Flutter is stable and reliable, freeing up more time for new development. Moi has given the team a great environment to do just that.
– Moi is very open to our ideas, especially when it comes to features, and they trust us a lot. That means we get to work on all kinds of things, which keeps the job interesting, says Alex.

Even though Jusu is the team lead, the team operates on a very equal footing. Communication is open, responsibility is shared, and decisions are made together.
– Everyone’s part of the conversation. If we can’t reach a decision by talking, we’ll vote, Alex says.
– We don’t point fingers or assign blame. We fail together, and we succeed together, Mikael adds.
Jusu acts as the link between the client and the team, ensuring that developers can focus on what they do best: building quality apps.
– Jusu understands the client and their needs. He takes care of communication so we can deliver solutions efficiently, Petri says.
Trust is built through openness – and small everyday things
The strong team spirit isn’t a happy accident – it’s something the team has actively built over time. Shared lunches, game nights, and escape room outings all play a part, but real team spirit is evident in everyday interaction and how feedback is handled.
– It’s really easy to give and receive feedback. Everyone respects each other and understands the importance of feedback, says Alex.
– Nothing feels scary to try. It’s easy to experiment with new solutions, Iiro adds.
– If someone makes a mistake or there’s something wrong in the code, everyone feels comfortable speaking up. Mistakes happen, and we fix them together, says Hung.
Experience makes the difference
Flutter brings speed and efficiency, but at the core of it all is the team’s experience. The Moi team has accomplished a great deal and there’s plenty more to come.
– We’ve got a highly skilled team with a great vibe. It’s genuinely fun to come to work every day. And we’ve done some really cool things with Moi – more of those are on the way, Jusu promises.
