Codemate was born in 2007 from an ambitious idea: to build a company where people thrive, grow and can genuinely shape how things are done.
Founders Toni Piirainen and Jukka Katajaharju wanted to create a place where good work grows from a good culture. The name Codemate captures that spirit: talented people solving digital challenges together.

Over the years our expertise has grown, and we've also expanded strategically: Nordic Nomads and Upsert have strengthened our capabilities through acquisitions.

Codemate was part of the Flutter ecosystem early on, while the technology was still in beta. We were among the first to build commercial Flutter apps and actively contributed to the ecosystem’s development.
Over the years the collaboration has expanded to Google Maps Platform, Google Cloud and other Google ecosystem technologies. Today we operate within the Google Cloud Partner network and as a Google Maps Platform Direct Reseller.
Our first collaborations with Google grew out of the Flutter organization.

Codemate’s relationship with Google goes beyond a traditional technology partnership. We have collaborated directly with Google’s engineering teams, including contributions to Flutter and its developer tooling. Today, we also work with Google on joint customer opportunities through co-selling, resell Google Cloud as a Google Cloud Partner, and are an authorized Direct Reseller of Google Maps Platform. For clients this means Google Cloud, AI, Maps and application technologies in the hands of one team.
Rebel App Studio is Codemate’s Flutter specialist unit. It designs and builds multiplatform applications with Flutter and contributes to the Flutter community.
Paimen, also known as Paimen AI, is Codemate’s agentic UX platform. It brings intelligent, adaptive user experiences into existing applications using the client’s own UI components, with built-in governance and auditability. PAIMEN® and PAIMEN AI® are registered EU trademarks of Codemate Oy.
